Working with you to deliver bespoke, local support for adoptive families
Adoption UK Scotland works in partnership with local authorities to design and deliver bespoke adoption support services aligned to local priorities and needs. These commissioned services build on our extensive track record of delivering effective, scalable support models developed collaboratively with adoption teams and adoptive families within their own communities.
Our locally commissioned provision is specifically structured to meet local authority statutory and registration requirements, as set out by the Care Inspectorate Scotland, while offering a cost-effective and specialist alternative to fragmented or crisis-led interventions. The model prioritises early intervention and sustained engagement, reducing escalation, strengthening placement stability, and supporting positive outcomes for children and families.
These contracts directly support local authorities to evidence compliance with the Care Inspectorate Adoption Service Quality Framework, demonstrating that children and families have access to appropriate community-based support, therapeutic provision, and learning and development opportunities. Crucially, they also contribute to delivering The Promise, ensuring adoptive families are supported to meet children’s needs and that children’s rights, wellbeing and long-term outcomes remain at the centre of service delivery.
Adoption UK Scotland’s adoption support services
We provide a comprehensive, outcomes-focused adoption support model that directly responds to the complex and evolving needs of adoptive families. Our integrated approach uniquely combines lived experience — contributed by adoptive family service users, staff and volunteers — with the professional expertise of therapeutic and education practitioners. This ensures support is both credible and compassionate, evidence-informed and grounded in real-world impact.
Through established internal referral pathways and cross-service consultancy, families receive timely, coordinated and consistent support, reducing fragmentation and improving continuity of care. Our model brings together peer support, high-quality learning and development, and specialist therapeutic intervention where required, enabling early help while retaining the capacity to respond to higher-need families. This integrated delivery offers commissioners confidence that families can access the right support, at the right time, from a single trusted provider.
