OFSTED rates Adoption UK ‘outstanding’ in all areas Following an inspection in June, OFSTED has rated Adoption UK’s work in England ‘outstanding’ in all areas. We've received a resounding endorsement of our work to help and protect children, young people and adults, and of the effectiveness of our leaders and managers. CEO Emily Frith said: “I am immensely proud of everyone at Adoption UK. To have their outstanding work recognised by OFSTED is a testament to the commitment and expertise of all our staff and volunteers.” The inspectors were impressed by the work of the Psychology and Therapy Hub (PATH), saying: “The therapeutic services provided by the agency to children and families are exceptional…The impact of therapy on children is extraordinary.” Our peer services came in for equal praise: “Parents benefit from outstanding peer support. This helps them feel less alone in their journey as well as empowering them with encouragement and practical strategies to better support their children’s needs.” The OFTSED report also cited a strong safeguarding culture, and staff who are “…aspirational for children and families and have high expectations of what they can achieve.” Emily Frith continued: “We’re not resting on our laurels. Far too many adoptees are still not getting the lifelong help they need from adoption support services nor from other public services such as health and education. Every day, we see the hurdles they face in having an equal chance in childhood and in adulthood. With the help of all the adoptees and families who support and guide us, we will keep challenging ourselves, the sector and government to do more.” Adoption UK is the leading charity for adopted people and others unable to grow up with their birth parents, and for their families. We provides therapeutic support, specialist community groups and peer support, alongside a wide range of information, advice and learning. We also campaigns for systemic change to help adoptees have an equal chance to thrive. See the full OFSTED report here. Manage Cookie Preferences
