Services and support for kinship carers Kinship carers provide stability, love, and care for children who cannot live with their birth parents. Whether you’re a grandparent, aunt, uncle, sibling, or close family friend stepping in to care for a child, you are not alone. We offer services and support to help you navigate the challenges and rewards of kinship care and ensure the best outcomes for children in your care. This is a new and evolving page and we will soon be offering additional support, resources and training. Sign up to receive kinship news and updates Education For some kinship carers, it can be difficult to navigate the education system and at the same time balance the family’s needs. For children who have experienced childhood trauma, the school environment can be particularly challenging. Here you'll find information and guidance on topics from transitions to self-regulation. Life story Our life story book and memory box resources and guides will help you to have important conversations with children in your care about their life stories. By building memories and piecing together the past, children can find a stronger sense of identity and belonging. Information and support line Our information and support advisers offer practical suggestions, information and encouragement, or can point you in the right direction for specialist help.
